Much confusion surrounds PPI and image resolution. A PPI figure has little meaning without image dimensions in inches. A 2- by 3-inch image at 300 PPI contains the same visual information as a 6- by 9-inch image at 100 PPI. Both measure 600 pixels by 900 pixels and offer the same reproduction capabilities. |
