Dustin Wees oversees migration of source data and the enhancing, editing, and augmenting of descriptions of works of art for the ARTstor database. Before coming to ARTstor, Mr. Wees spent three years at Columbia University as Cataloger and Coordinator of Special Collections in the Department of Art History and Archaeology's Visual Resources Collection. He was head of cataloging and coordinator of the data standards for a collection of about 500,000 slides. After teaching art history at Skidmore College from 1970 to 1974, Mr. Wees was for many years the Photograph and Slide Librarian at The Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute in Williamstown, Massachusetts. He was active in the Visual Resources Association's Data Standards Committee and helped to develop a database shared by two museums and two slide collections in Williamstown. In addition to speaking and publishing on visual resources topics, he has also organized exhibitions of prints and illustrated books.
